On March 8th, in collaboration with the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut, we had the privilege of introducing the Agbenyo Foundation to the world at a remarkable event themed Nyɔnuvi, meaning “female” in the Ewe language. The timing was serendipitous as it coincided with International Women’s Day and fell within Women’s History Month, amplifying our commitment to celebrating and empowering women.
Set against the inspiring backdrop of Marian Anderson Hall, the launch was a celebration of Ghanaian culture and the pivotal role of women in community-building. Traditionally, women have been the bedrock of communal villages, driving the success of homes and townships alike. This rich heritage was at the heart of our event, commemorating the resilience and strength of women throughout history.

The evening was adorned with vibrant paintings of black women and handcrafted treasures sourced from Ghana, including tote bags, chocolates, shea butter, and fans. Each item not only showcased Ghanaian craftsmanship but also represented our dedication to supporting local artisans and communities.
We are thrilled to announce that the launch was a resounding success, with a fantastic turnout and generous charitable donations. Every contribution received will directly support our mission to empower and uplift communities in Ghana, promoting education, healthcare, and sustainable development.
Throughout the night, there was an abundance of warmth, laughter, and meaningful connections, embodying the essence of community that lies at the core of the Agbenyo Foundation. Just as we aspire to strengthen communities in Ghana, our launch reflected the epitome of community-building right here in Connecticut.
As we look ahead, we are filled with gratitude for everyone who joined us in this journey and excited about the positive impact we can create together. Thank you for your support, and we invite you to stay tuned for more updates on how we’re making a difference.

Together, we are building a brighter future—one community at a time.
